Have the students role-play a TV current affairs interview with a politician. Ask the politician whether they think we should be involved in Antarctic regions and their reasons for this. Put forward a scenario for Australia to pull out altogether and stop its Antarctic research, and use the $100 million each year instead for youth unemployment.
  • Conduct a debate about the value of keeping the Australian Antarctic Territory.
